La Palma · Garafía
Unique geological formation in Puntagorda: a forest of centuries-old dragon trees and almond trees growing among natural caves excavated in volcanic tuff. The 'buracas' are hollows in the rock that served as shelter for ancient aboriginal inhabitants and today create a surreal landscape among twisted trees and lichens. Light filters through the branches casting shadow patterns on the porous stone. A perfect setting for fantasy, folk tale or any story with mythic resonance.
